whooo hoooo!!!!!

OK so I have "graduated" according to the cast guy.

I graduated from this....

(I had to get pics of all the things written on my "real cast"- excuse the nasty looking foot on the last one, I guess that its common for that to happen but its still nasty looking)

To THIS....

I am going to be in the boot for 4 weeks and then I will hopefully be support free. The bone is healed the Dr. just wants to make sure that it is strong enough for me to walk on with out hurting it again. I can walk now so I am happy about that one... I just have to walk all funny because is it feels like I am wearing a high heel on one foot and not the other.

life....

I am so excited! This coming Wednesday I have my appointment with the orthopedic doctor. I am going to have my ankle X-Rayed again and I will hopefully be getting a walking cast or a boot. I am so tired of having to be off my feet!!! I cant wait to be up to clean the house and get it organized.

So Richard decided that I need to have a "real cast" not just what I had. What does he mean by a "real cast"?, you ask. Look and see...

A "genuine cast" now! Doodles and all. Richard had a bit too much fun if I do say so myself. He was acting like a little boy coloring on a cast for the first time.

Amanda somehow got pinkeye this week. I have never dealt with pinkeye before so I feel so sorry for her, I have no idea what to do to help her but to give her the antibiotics from the Dr. and since we cant quite communicate completely yet, I don't really know what she is going through. I am glad that she is on the antibiotic now though. Her eye is looking so much better than it was.

And now..... Last but not least.... this will be a major disappointment to all of you... I finally watched Twilight. Yes...Yes... I know its been out for who knows how long now. I have a hubby that refuses to watch it though, and I didn't have a chance to go out and see it on my own. So Richard being the wonderful husband that he is red boxed it for me last night. I have to give him credit for that I guess, even though he still refused to watch it with me. Something about how vampires were made for women to fear and love at the same time... I think he is just jealous. Don't tell him I said that though. He might get upset with me for figuring it out:) He is my Edward though, so he shouldn't worry.

So I decided I like the movie enough to buy it.... I didn't like it as much as I was expecting though. I guess I just have a great imagination that made it seem so much better in my mind while reading the book. I loved the music except in the suspenseful spots.. I loved the final song while at the prom. I think I may just go out and buy the CD.

Well that is about it on what has been going on in our life her in the Wilcox house... only 4 more days.... then 3 .....then.......

A picture of my pretty pink cast. Just to clear it up, YES I did ask for a pink cast. I broke my arm when I was 7 and wanted a pink cast, all they had was white and I was very upset. I have always wanted to have a pink cast, so I just had to ask to see if I could get one.

For those of you who are too far away to see our new house, as each room is finished we plan on taking some pics to let you see what it looks like. It may take a while since we are slowed down a bit by my leg. Keep checking in and you will see what it looks like.

update on my ankle....

I went to the orthopedic Dr. yesterday. I have a new pretty pink cast :) and I have to wear it for 4 weeks. After the 4 weeks are up I have to have it X-Rayed again and then they will tell me if I can start putting weight on it, as for the moment though, I am to keep my leg elevated and iced. I am not liking this very much, but if it will help it heal then I will do it. I am just getting frustrated with the fact that I cant put my new house together:(

I have to thank all of you out there who have been helping our family though this trial. You are angels!!!!

What happened????

For those of you who have been wondering what happened to my leg and haven't heard.... Here is the story.

Richard and I were painting some of the rooms in the new house, we were able to finish 2 rooms and were planning on working on one more and then we would call it a day. I was in the Gabe's room painting, and trying to get up higher on the wall so that Richard would not have to do so much work, as he was following me around the rooms getting what I could not reach. How was I trying to get up higher you ask, well I was jumping up and down. I was able to finish two walls with no problems, I started on the third wall and while painting the thought came to me (I later realized that it was the spirit telling me this), "Heather you should stop jumping". I figured that since I had been doing it all day that I would be OK to keep doing it. I'll bet that it wasn't even 2 seconds later I jumped and landed wrong. I heard a loud snap and was on the floor.

What is funny is the fact that it happened right around 5:00 so the Dr. office was closed, so we decided to wait until the next day which happened to be Friday to get me to the Dr. Unfortunately the Dr. office was booked, so we went to the ER instead, and drum roll please........ I broke my ankle. According the the Dr. in the ER I am going to be layed up for the next 6 to 8 weeks. This is great! NOT!!!!

I have come to the conclusion that there have been a couple things to learn from this trial.

1) You should ALWAYS listen and follow through with what the spirit tells you.
2) I have to ask for help when I need it. (this is a thing that I absolutely HATE to do)
3) To be grateful for little things like a working leg.
4) That even though you disobey Heavenly Father will not tell you I told you so and make your life miserable, he will provide a way to make things work out. You may suffer still but not as much as you could.

I hope that I learn these lessons well.

I have to thank all of you who have helped out so much so far. I could never put into words just how truly grateful I am. I thank all of you who have volunteered to help me through the remainder of the time as well. Also thank you for all of you out there who have been praying for me, your prayers have been heard and are felt.
