reflections

While reading the Book of Mormon this morning, I feel like I got an answer for my problem with being patient, with getting pregnant and in other areas of my life.

In 1st Nephi, chapter 3 (towards the end of the chapter) Laman and Lemuel had just seen an angel, and had been told by that angel that Laban would be delivered into their hands. After the angel departed they began to murmur again, and asked how will this happen? And then they showed that they were a bit scared to go up against Laban.

Relating this to my life, R and I both got an answer that trying to get pregnant was what we should be doing. I felt the spirit telling me something instead of seeing an angel, but still it was an answer from the Lord. After getting this answer, I kept asking, "How are we going to do it?" and now I am asking "When will it happen?"along with "how?". I am scared, but I know Heavenly Father will provide help.

What I should be doing at the moment is be preparing in anyway I can to be ready for a baby (or preparing for what ever other answers I have received) instead of worrying over it. Heavenly Father knows the best for us. He has sent us two wonderful children already, and I feel that they were hand picked just for our family. I am sure he will do the same for the next child, and will send us one of his children at the time that he or she is needed to be here. I just need to be patient, and enjoy the wonderful spirits that have been added to our family already.

I love how you can open the scriptures and find an answer to your problems. I love the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. I am so grateful that we have them to read and that they along with the spirit can teach us lessons that we may not have learned otherwise.

bummed

So I am feeling really bummed right now, I don't want to be a complainer, But I just have to get it out there or I think I may burst.

R and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months now and nothing. It is a bit frustrating due to the fact that we got pregnant while I was still on Birth Control pills with G. I was expecting it to happen quickly again I guess. I know it will happen in Heavenly Father's timing and not ours, but I am so stinkin baby hungry.

Before we decided to start trying I had been getting feelings that someone was missing. Not as instant like I had before getting pregnant with G. Both R and I felt (after lots and lots of prayer) that it was time to start trying again. We felt like this was a test of faith since we both didn't feel ready, and we knew that we still had (and still have) things to get done before we can welcome a new baby into our home. I know that since we felt that it was the right thing to do we will be provided for. I know this is giving us more time to get things taken care of, and help us be in a better financial shape for a new baby. Its given me time to be prepared emotionally for a new little one. I am so impatient though.

I am starting to hate Facebook because I am finding out that almost everyone is pregnant or having the cutest little babies, or at least it seems like everyone. I am so excited for all those friends because I know the joy that they are experiencing and wish them all the joy in the world. I can't help but be sad though....

I know we have been blessed with two beautiful children and I shouldn't be complaining. Especially since I know quite a few people who have been told they can't have children or have been trying for years and are taking all sorts of medications to help them to have just one. I feel even worse when I remember that I could have it worse.

Anyways I guess that is it. I need to just be patient, and place this one in Heavenly Father's hands.

5 years!

R and I celebrated our 5th anniversary last week. I know I say it every year, but it seems like it can't be that long. But when I think of everything that has gone on in those 5 years it seems like it has been much longer.

Who would have thought that in just 5 years we would have bought a house and have 2 children? I kinda hoped that we would have a few children, but the house? I would have never dreamed of that happening.

I love my husband to death and I am so grateful for the man that he is and continues to become. I am so thankful for the wonderful father he is. I am so grateful for Heavenly Father leading us together.

rain

I thought up this rhyme this morning after being woken up by pouring rain. It woke the kids up too.

Its raining, its pouring,
and I was snoring,
It woke me up,
it was so abrupt,
guess its the beginning of my morning.

I would have loved to sleep in just a little longer :( It was so nice to wake up to the sound of rain instead of dogs barking or a child screaming for me though.

A's quilt and halloween costumes....

I have been working on a quilt for A for about 5 months now. Its been slow going because I am making it over at Grandma and Grandpa F's house so we need to make sure the days work for both of us, and then I am only able to go over for a couple of hours.

So far I have gotten all the major blocks done and sewn together. I still have much to do, but the difficult stuff is done for the most part.

Here is what it looks like.
I just love the way it looks so far. The twist is so beautiful. This picture still doesn't do it justice.

Also I have asked R's mom to help out with making our Halloween costumes. I am getting better at quilting, but I am still not ready to start making costumes. I tried helping Mom a couple of years ago with my costume, and lets just say I was totally and utterly hopeless with it.

Mom and Grandma F have gotten A and I's costumes done, and they are almost done with G's costume. We are going to use thrift stores for R's costume since his is going to be easier to do that way. I can't wait for Halloween now! I have a picture of me in my costume, but I don't want to give away what we are doing yet. Its gonna be WONDERful though.

I can't thank Mom and Grandma enough for all their help. I was going to just go to thrift stores and hope to find things for our costumes and I know with out a doubt that they would have turned out horrible compared to the wonderful costumes that we have now.

Stay tuned for pictures, although it will probably have to wait until October.

why do I do that?

I have decided that I just need to keep my mouth shut sometimes. I have this desire to be right all the time, and it bites the big one when I find out that I am wrong, or both parties are correct, but arrive at different ends.

I sincerely apologize if I have ever offended any of you readers with my need to be right all the time. Whether through this blog, or in person.

Its a constant journey to perfection, guess this is just one of those things that I need to work on.

politics....

Ok so I have to say I am seriously getting tired of all the calls I get on my phone trying to get me to vote for this or that candidate. I am getting tired of all commercials on the TV, especially as it gets closer to election day. It seems like every other commercial is for so and so, and then instead of showing what they stand for, they completely trash the other guy that is running for the same office. If I wanted to hear trash talk I would go back to High School. I want to hear what you stand for, not what your opponent has done wrong.... ok maybe a little history is alright, I don't want to vote for someone who cares more for himself (and his pocketbook) than for the people he represents. But do you have to make every one of them trash talk?

I don't want to vote for people who make trash talking the opponent their main priority. If you want my vote you need to show me the good stuff about you, not the fact that you know how to be rude.

Anyways I will get off my soap box, now.
